Sunita Devadas

A teacher by profession, and a mentor at heart. Sunita Devadas has worked at Yokohama International School (YIS), Japan, for the past 13 years. As an English as an Additional Language (EAL) teacher at YIS, where the language of instruction is English, she considers it a privilege to have worked with students from various language backgrounds from around the world, and to have guided them in their journey of acquiring proficiency in academic English.

A valuable learning for her from this journey has been the ability to look for strengths, as a starting point in any teaching/learning situation, and to realise that mentorship is at the heart of teaching. After over two decades of living in Japan, Sunita has recently moved to Hong Kong.
