Former Chief Strategy Officer for Cyber Policy and Speechwriter in the Office of the Secretary of Defense Jonathan Reiber is Head of Cybersecurity Strategy at Illumio, where he serves as a spokesman and leads the firm’s cybersecurity research, analysis, and strategy formulation. A former Chief Strategy Officer for Cyber Policy and Speechwriter in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, his background is in national security policy planning, cybersecurity strategy, geopolitics, and public communications. He previously served as Senior Advisor at Technology for Global Security, a think-tank based in Palo Alto, California, and as a Senior Fellow at UC Berkeley's Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity, where he held a two-year writing and research fellowship from 2015-2017. Prior to his fellowship at Berkeley, Jonathan held a number of positions in the Obama Administration within the U.S. Department of Defense. In his last position as CSO for Cyber Policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, he advised the Pentagon leadership and led initiatives across the cyber policy portfolio, to include strategic planning, key interagency and industry partnerships, and strategic communications.
