Shawn Hoon, a Research Fellow at Molecular Engineering Laboratory, is currently working on developing means to amplify nucleic acids with bacterial cells, small RNA characterization in model organisms and applying genomics to biomimetic research. Shawn did his undergraduate work in computer engineering at the University of Virginia and obtained a PhD in genetics at Stanford University working on chemical genomics using yeast as a model organism.
